DescriptionOne of the best covers of the classic '70s Defenders series. An oversized Nighthawk screams from frustration as every super hero in town wants to be "Defender for a day".Apart from nostalgia, there are a number of reasons why this cover is a grail for me: it portrays perfectly the whacky spirit of the Defenders title in those days; it showcases the JR JR / Layton duo, as they were starting their fantastic collaboration on Iron Man; it features my favourite Defender (well male Defender...) and B-superhero...plus fourteen '70s Marvel characters. Add a touch of '70s psychedelia and you have a Bronze Age masterpiece, IMHO! Social/Sharing |

Great addition to your superb collection ! You forgot to mention that Stan the Man himself is on the page (cut the lower right corners narrattor's hair).

A classic! JRJR's artwork has evolved so much, this is definitely one of his best time periods in my opinion. Defenders was one of my favorites growing up. This is a great piece! Awesome!
