DescriptionMickey & Minnie in "Casablanca" is a comic story created by Giorgio Cavazzano, a parody of the movie Casablanca featuring Disney characters instead of the film's actors. The story, first published in Italy in Topolino magazine #1657 in 1987, is considered one of the masterpieces of the author and is also the story where the artist said he found "his own" Mickey.The story takes up the main events narrated in the film, focusing on its most famous scenes such as the one where the protagonist Mickey / Mick asks the pianist Goofy / Sam to play the usual piece, a quote from one of the most famous lines of the film ("Play it again, Sam "). During the Second World War, Mick (Mickey Mouse) managed a club, the "Mickey's Café Americain" in French Morocco under the control of the Zirconia state that invaded France; here many are trying to recover illegal visas to emigrate to America. The story is also peculiar because the original pages are finished with ink wash and they were published in black & white. Absolutely stunning!!! I have never seen art from the story before, but it just made it on my wish list... ;-))

if you had the chance to visit some of Cavazzano's exhibitions in the past few years, you would have seen original art from the story... and that would be the only way :)
