DescriptionBeautiful cover sized battle between DR Doom and IRONMAN by Bob Layton and Scott Willams apparently created back in 1987. This art clearly conjured up with Ironman issues 149-150 in mind. The detail on this beauty when viewed in person is beyond words. One of the most beautiful combination of artists I've seen.Signed by both artists and brought to you here today thanks to my brother Alan Daniel. My birthday was February 11 and I received this delivery via the United States Post Office. Thank you Brother!!!! What an awesome surprise gift!!!Social/Sharing |

To be honest, I have zero recollection of ever doing this piece! LOL! Seriously, it's clearly my work over Layton, and my signature, and was probably done at a (San Diego?) convention, but it's honestly like seeing it for the first time. Very surreal. Congrats on your your birthday and your cool art present. And you have a great brother!

It's an honor to have a piece of art you worked on. Even if you don't remember doing it!!! Ha ha! So cool for you to leave a comment and yes-I do have a wonderful brother. Thanks Scott!! You and Bob created a lovely piece of art work.

One of the greatest Dr. Doom stories, of all-time, came out of "Iron Man" #149-150.
Without a doubt, one Marvel's finest ever created. Obviously,
this "masterpiece" was done as a homage to those classic issues.
This also stands as my personal favorite Iron Man armor design. (*no school like
old school*) Anyway, a mighty Happy Birthday to you, Mike.
I'd say this was the icing on the cake.. ;)

There's always something special when someone thinks of us and gives art as a gift. Bonus points for this being a really cool piece that's already 30 years old! Congrats!

So rare to see Scott ink anyone other than Jim. Which makes this gift all the more special and unique. Wish I had a brother like yours! Not that I don't love my two sisters. LOL
