Description

These are two panels from the September 15, 1959 Li'l Abner. It shows the Abner family sleeping arrangements; Li'l Abner and Daisy Mae in bed together with their son Honest Abe a few feet away. This may explain why Abe never got a younger sibling. This is firmly in the era when Frank Frazetta was ghosting for Capp. The things that tend to show that it is one Frazetta worked on are the spectacular look of Daisy Mae (My lord, she has June Wilkinson's chest in the first panel. The Comic Code didn't apply to strips.) and the fishtail at the end of the signature. There is no way of knowing, however. There is also no way of knowing what happened to the third panel. A previous owner had these crudely matted side by side.
