Karate Kid vs. Night Thrasher by Mark Bagley

New Warriors was one of the first series that I got to start collecting at #1, and to this day it is one of my favorite series of all time. Fabian Nicieza and Mark Bagley (and later Darick Robertson) made some fantastic comics with those characters. I have been a huge fan of Mark's ever since, following his work on to Spider-Man and a ton of other books. And when I first made my list of artists and characters for this "Karate Kid vs." series, Bagley and Night Thrasher were in the top five of my list. So yeah, this made my year, seeing Mark at Wizard World New Orleans and getting him to draw this commission for me at the show. And I got to see those all too rare Bagley inks! Mark still draws one heck of a Night Thrasher, and his Karate Kid ain't too bad, either! I love Night Thrasher's pose with the way he's dodged Karate Kid's kick and is preparing to counter attack with his battle staves. HUGE thanks to Mark for drawing this for me!

I love Dwayne Taylor. He is a great hand-to-hand fighter and his armor and weapons give him an edge in most fights. That said, Val Armorr is gonna break that helmet open and knock Dwayne clean out. But only after a few minutes of Dwayne using his weapons and gadgets to prolong the fight, because Night Thrasher does not go down easy. Afterwards, Thrash would probably try to recruit Karate Kid into the Warriors.
