Karate Kid vs. Magnus, Robot Fighter by Bill Reinhold

Bill is a fantastic artist and the first time I saw some of his Magnus artwork I knew he'd be perfect for this matchup. I've long admired Bill's inking but I was not too familiar with his penciling until I saw his work for Dark Horse's Magnus title. Since then I've sought out some of his older work like his run on The Badger and Spyke and my appreciation of his talent has grown even more. This commission took a while to set up but it was well worth it. I only asked for a minimal background but Bill ended up giving me a full futuristic city! Oddly enough, my favorite thing about the characters in this piece is how Bil drew Val Armorr's wristbands. They look great! Anyway, I think this piece is just gorgeous and I can't thank Bill enough for the effort he put into this one!

Magnus and Val Armorr are both martial artists in the far future who can do extraordinary things like smash steel with their bare hands, so this should be an awesome throwdown. Ultimately, I think Magnus's weakness will be that his training mostly focused on robotic opponents whereas Val has trained to fight all possible types of opponents. Val should win, but not without taking a few lumps in the process.
