Description"Cleanse and purify, my brothers!"Well, it had to happen. After 30 years in my collection, and being one of the very first pieces of comic art I bought, the Nemesis Book 3 DPS from Prog 338 has been cleansed. But, CREDO, my brothers! It was traded for this absolute banger from Prog 339, which, tbh, is much more to my liking than 338. In fact, I'm pretty sure that this was the Prog that got me into collecting the Titan editions. Ydrasill! Cleanse and Purify! The return of Mek-Quake! Terminator siege engines...this pretty much had all I wanted. Doesn't get better than this. Brother O'Neill at the top of his game. You can see why he switched to a looser style, though that doesn't seem to have up-ed his page rate. And we get a cheeky little sketch on the back..! Thanks to David for the trade. 2000AD Prog 339, pp 16-17, 22 October 1983 Nemesis The Warlock, Book 3, Chapter 5 Pen and ink with whiteout on cartridge paper Image 16" x 27" Letters; Brother Potter. Yep, definitely a banger. As much as I like his later work on The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, this is to me prime O'Neill. I still chuckle at his art for an issue of Green Lantern from this time period being rejected by the Comics Code on the grounds that it might be too grotesue and disturbing for children.

Incrediblely done! It makes the two pages look so much bigger than they are with so much scale put into this image. What it aims for and achieves overwhelms the audience.

Congrats! It doesn't get much better than that, does it. Here's hoping David Roach get's asked to put a Kevin O'Neill book together one day.

Yep, 'Brother' Kevin certainly put the work in on this. Even at the time I wondered how crazy he must be to put that much work into something that was printed on what I think he called bog paper. Paper not worthy of the effort so many other artists put in too. Still, makes it better when you see the originals.

There's something about the original bog paper print, lost in horrible garrish glossy reprints from stats.

My major problem with the reprints is the fact that the people producing them do no seem to realise that you cannot read the centre of the centre spreads! They should print the centre spreads with a gap in the middle. Lol. I gave up buying them when I spotted that. A story you cannot fully read and art you cannot fully see. Nice job, not.
