Wow! This is one of my favorite Frazetta illustrations. Odd that Frank kind of dismissed the writings of Burroughs and favored Howard's. He was the definitive illustrator for both writers' work, in my opinion.

Love the work! Frank at his best when he did illustrated the Mars books.

I knew it was a good idea to put you on my watch list. I'll leave all the comments about technique, etc. to others who are more knowledgeable, and I'll just add that this is one of my absolute favorite Burroughs pieces.

Another WOW from me as I was stunned to see this piece just surface! I remember it well and I too rank it as one of my favorites. But then he is one of my favorite artist and so I loved all of his works! Another RIP from me on this great loss but maybe now we'll see more of these treasures surface. Thanks for sharing this with us!

If I were looking at her, I'd have the same expression as the headless guy. In fact, I do have that expression on my face.

Magnificent! This puts an otherwise stunning collection (so far) over the top; can't wait to see what else you have left to post. Congrats!

Unforgettable image. Not just for the sexy Fritz female . . . but mainly for that nightmare of a monstrosity she faces!

Frazetta is a step beyond. Any of us who has ever picked up a pen would make a Faustian bargain to be half this good.
