DescriptionOne of the things I miss about living in the States is going to conventions and meeting the artists and my fellow fans. A few people have offered to pick up something for me, but I don't like to be a bother, so I usually say no.******* However, recently when a collector who corresponds with me from time to time offered to get something for me from the Hawthorne show, I thought it would be nice to get one sketch. I looked over the guest list and there were a lot of the guys I liked, but Joe Staton's name kind of jumped out at me. ******* Then it was time to choose from Joe's vast array of characters. For an old Earth-2 fan like me, two characters came to mind right away, Power Girl and Huntress. I know he gets a lot of requests for these two characters, and I thought, briefly, about thinking of some obscure Charlton characters like Monster Hunters' Colonel Whiteshroud, or Scary Tales' Countess Von Bludd or maybe the less obscure Katma Tui from GL Corps, but that thought passed rather quickly. Sometimes you just have to give in and go with the flow. ******* When I received a scan of the results, I could not thank my friend enough. Joe drew Power Girl in her costume that shows off her two biggest "superpowers," so to speak, and the Huntress was the dearly-missed Helana Wayne. Thanks, Joe, I could not be happier with the results. Social/Sharing |

This takes me back to reading All-Star Comics in the 70s. I always enjoy seeing Helena Wayne.
