Hello, everyone. Greetings from Japan. Since I have been on CAF, I have loved looking at all the wonderful art collections and am envious of quite a few of you. I love the fact that people from throughout the world (time and space) can come together like this
I started collecting comic art when I bought a couple of con sketches in my high school days. Likewise, I bought a couple of published pages, along with a few more sketches, from artists at cons. Oh, how I wish I had collected art more seriously then, but most of my money was taken up by expenses.
My father bought me my first comic when I was three or four (possibly because he had grown tired of reading Winkin, Blinkin & Nod and the other children's books in the house) and I kept reading them well into my twenties. In 1990, however, I moved to Japan for what I thought would be a couple of years and instead, I got married, had a kid and built a little house in the "Land of the Rising Sun."
Since I couldn't bring the several thousands of comics I had in storage back in the States over here, I sold them to Shelton Drum of Heroes Con fame for some money and three original art pages. I have been in love with my new hobby ever since.
