We must say that in Italy we were very lucky during the 60s. If you were familiar with all those heros of the 30s, like Flash Gordon, Mandrake, Tim Tyler's luck, Brick Bradford and The Phantom, you had plenty of choice with many comic book series with fantastic colorful covers realised by this great artist still almost unknown: Mario Caria. They really added a hint of fascination to the stories, and it was a pleasure to collect such comic books.

The late Mario Caria did a real good job with his many covers for F.lli Spada publishers. He told me that one month he painted 38 covers! Great paiter!
