DescriptionACQUISITION DATE: 1990SOURCE: dealer OWNER HISTORY: 1 DIMENSIONS: 11x17 STOCK: bristol CREATION DATE: 1990 SIGNATURE: Keown/McLeod PUBLICATION: December 1990 Let's see, what could possibly be better than a Dale Keown Hulk? How about TWO Keown Hulks? Yup, two Keown Hulks on the same piece. Now THAT'S what I call a Keown Hulk cover! It broke my heart to say goodbye to all my other Keown Hulk pieces (see SOLD gallery room), but whenever I get down, I just whip this baby out and it's nothing but smiles! Not that I wouldn't want those others back, but I'm pretty happy with the only one I chose to keep. Thanks Mitch! (4/2/12) Major props to my bro Jonathan Mueller for this updated scan of the original art. Much better than a photocopy, eh? Social/Sharing |

lots of people claim to have the best Keown Hulk piece, but this one might really be just that

In conjuction with our weekend correspondence I found myself browsing around the museum you've put together here and I also found myself giving this piece alot of my attention...there's no need to own another Keown Hulk with this already in the fold. Hats off to you man!

Thanks Ken (and Jeff and Kevin), that's mighty kind of you! As for you Yoram, you have more than enough Keown artwork! =)

Y'kow, I keep coming back to your gallery to look at this piece and every time I do, I can't help but think that it belongs with its brothers and sisters. Won't you be a good humanitarian and help me adopt this orphan so that I may reunite it with its family?

LOL!!!!! I don't know why you keep torturing yourself buddy! Whenever that happens to me with a piece I want and can't have, I just go home and look at all the stuff I already own. You've got probably the best Keown collection in the hobby. Maybe you should try that! LOL

Great cover with two Hulks going at it (at each other actually)! Hey, I though John Byrne was the only one to feature characters with those eye-glasses?

Okay Yoram, if you don't stop whining about this cover, I'm going to take it down and you'll never see it again! LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Peter David and Dale Keown's Hulk redefined the character and showed how a thoughtful psychological analysis of the character could work masterfully if done well (if you want to see it done poorly, watch the first Hulk movie). Perhaps more than any other, this cover summarizes their whole run, in one beautifully rendered image. A very shrewd acquisition. Big congratulations!

TWO seems to be a lucky number with this piece. Not only was it used for the cover of Hulk #376. It was also used for Incredible Hulk Visionaries Peter David TPB #6.

Every now and then I come back and browse hrough your museum - and I always find something that I had not paid enough attention before. This is an absolute masterpiece, Keown's Hulk was the best, IMHO!

Thank you my friend. My museum? Hmm, I hope you are talking about the artwork and not how OLD I am! LOL!

What an amazing cover. I remember chasing down each issue on the newsstands during Keown's MONTHLY hulk stint. What great memories this cover brings back.
