Description

Tom Grummett was one of the artists atop my "if he's ever available, do it!" list. This Common Elements concept had Tom's name all over it, given that he co-created Josiah Power, seen here battling with fellow legal eagle Jennifer "She-Hulk" Walters.

Josiah's a fascinating character. A prominent attorney whose career took a sudden downturn after his superhuman powers unexpectedly unleashed during a court proceeding, he opted not to become a costumed crimefighter himself, but instead assembled a team of metahumans who acted as heroes for hire (not to be confused with the Marvel Universe squad of that name). Despite being the Power Company's most powerful member -- no pun intended -- Josiah preferred to manage the team's operations from the sidelines and rarely participated in their missions in person. Josiah is also noteworthy as one of the few openly gay heroes in mainstream superhero comics.

She-Hulk... well, you probably know all about her already.

As a side note, wouldn't it be cool if lawyers, instead of presenting reams of boring evidence at trial, simply duked it out in the courtroom? Jury duty would certainly be a lot less tedious.
