DescriptionBack in 1994, when I saw the image of this cover for the first time, I got really excited; It had never occurred to me that something could ever bring down the Daily Planet globe, never the less the entire city around it, so to me this was a really dramatic visual. In the last few years, the visual of Superman holding/stopping a falling Daily Planet Globe has become a much more regular event, almost a cliche' even. It was also visualised by artists such as Alex Ross, George Perez and some other big names. In other media - it had appeared in a major scene in the Superman Returns movie. Still, to me, none of the later iterations looked as impressive or dramatic as the first (?) "Superman lifts the globe" image as depicted by Jackson "Butch" Guice. Thank you Alex for letting me have it ! As always, comments are welcome and appreciated :) Social/Sharing |

I'm not the biggest Superman fan either.. however, it makes no difference when it comes to something this fantastic. Excellent addition, Gal!! Huge Congrats! :)

I recently ran into Mike Carlin at SDCC 2013 and asked him to sign a few pages from his time on the Superman books. He recognized his hand writing on the OA and said: "Do you remember Action #700? That was a GREAT issue!" Congratulations Gal!

Always a treat for me to see original art to a comic I purchased, read, and enjoyed from my younger days. This is one of them, and truly a unique 700th issue image that went away with the cliched "iconic hero pose" for such a landmark issue. Congratulations on this acquisition!

I too remember the excitement I felt when I saw this cover for the first time. I was pretty much excited by all things Superman around this time, but this image really put me on the edge of my seat. It still does! Just an incredible cover --- it deserves a "700 gun salute!"

I too remember the excitement I felt when I saw this cover for the first time. You'd think there would have been a lull in Superman action after the whole "Death" storyline, but if anything, the excitement kept growing and growing, and I ate it all up. The sheer enormity of the image on this cover still puts me on the edge of my seat. It deserves a 700-gun salute! Congratulations!

This cover is so powerful. I remember seeing it as a kid back in the 90s and it's still retained in my memory. These are the type of covers I love. The ones that make you want to hurry home and open it up. Great one Gal.

Great Caesar's Ghost! What a great Action Comics cover! Fabulous cover by Jackson Guice with Superman heroically stopping the Daily Planet globe from squashing Lois Lane and Jimmy Olsen! Fantastic pick-up!

I had Jackson autograph my copy at Heroes Con that year. Such an iconic image. I really consider Jackson the cdefinitive Action Comics artist of the 90's. Congrats on being able to give this one a home!
