DescriptionAs time went by, like many OA collectors, I've started to focus my collectionmainly on covers and splashes. However, from time to time, comes an interior page with such a great story bit that it makes it even more fun to have than "just" another cool image. I could talk endlessly about how much I like this early 1994, pre-JLA, Howard Porter example, showing first signs of his developing style, while still being influenced by the popular IMAGE house style. I could also talk about the Superman S shield emblem, which is drawn here with rounder shapes, like it would appear, years later in the ALL-STAR SUPERMAN promos. But you know what ? I should just shut up and let you read this page ! After you'd read it, you'll learn why I love it so much (as I'm sure you would too) ! I don't think I've ever identified with a comic book character as much as I did with the young Ray Terrill here... "that is just... major cool..." Social/Sharing |

I always liked Porter's work and this is just great story telling. Almost don't need the thought bubble though that though has crept through my mind before. Congratulations on an excellent pickup.

As great as splashes and covers are, it's always cool to have a "real" interior page when they used to letter on the page itself. This is a great image of Superman. Congrats!

Major cool indeed! Just the Iconic image of Superman makes it an astounding page, and the self contained mini story, well that just hits it out of the ball park! That the scene takes place in a mall really adds to the 90's vibe! DECARLO's Pet shop that can not be just a coincidence?
