Description

Sergio Toppi was one of the greatest comic book artist ever. Period.

Not sure what this illustration, that seemingly shows Liutprando, King of the Lombards, was used for, probably a portfolio.

Anyway, you can easily recognize Toppi's distinctive features, in particular the unique sense for layout/composition.

Truly a powerful image.
