Description

One of my favorite movies, remember seeing this in the theatre. Great effects and some of the best creature designs for a horror movie. The first appearance of the Thing in the movie from the Kennel-Thing scene. Mike Ploog was the production illustrator: special makeup effects unit who did the designs for the Thing and many of the storyboards.
In the film this was the only only thing effect in the film not done by Rob Bottin, as Bottin was hospitalized for exhaustion at the time, it was done instead by Stan Winston and his crew, Winston asked not to be credited.
Storyboards from the Thing are very rare and ones of the Thing are even harder to find. Thrilled to own this.

I absolutely LOVE storyboards which, ironically, isn't something I get to see very often. Watching this as a young kid and being totally traumatized by the dog being torn apart- yeah, thanks for bringing all that back. LOL Seriously, The Thing has been one of my favourite movies and wow. Thanks for sharing. :)
