DescriptionI commissioned Jer to do this for me I believe in 2004. It was what the cover of Power of Shazam #48 would had been. If the series hadn't been cancelled so abruptly bt DC. Jerry had planned to use King Kull next. It was my idea to use Kirby's Thor#171 vs the Wrecker cover as a homage to the King!It was published in Twomorrow's Back Issue #20. With my interview with Jerry. Also in Modern Masters #13.Social/Sharing |

2004? It took you 10 years to share this but it's worth it. Ordway is a legend and a gentleman!

Jerry never even got to tie up the series. Also a homage to Kirby of course also. The other was to Romita SR & the cover of Amazing Spider-Man #50. As Captain Marvel No More.

Congratulations on a very cool commission! I know Jerry loves to draw Captain Marvel and it's a shame DC is not letting him continue the series... maybe you can hit the lottery and commission a complete story from him!

Hey Jim! Ya I wish! I would in fact do just that! I interviewed Jerry in Back Issue #20.This piece was in that issue & in Modern Masters #13 on Jerry also.
