Description

As Ray Bradbury might have written on one of his more cheerful days: "By the pricking of my thumbs, something awesome this way comes."

This one appeared out of the blue as a generous gift from fellow collector Damon Owens. Damon's scenario, flawlessly executed by the brilliant Luke McDonnell, pairs two gender-bending characters: Citizen V, a female hero who disguises herself as a male to battle the forces of evil, and Madam Fatal, a male hero who dons female drag to do likewise. (Madam Fatal holds the distinction, so far as I know, of being comics' first transvestite superhero, having debuted in May 1940.)

More detailed background is forthcoming, so drop around later for the extended cut.

Thanks to commission collecting legend Damon Owens for his overwhelming good-guyness. Seriously, if you look up "mensch" in the OED, Damon's picture is right there. The rest of us walk in the garden of his turbulence.

Damon Owens is one of the true GOOD GUYS in art collecting and this is another reason why -- not only does he give you a gift but he NAILS your theme perfectly - fabulous job all around.
