DescriptionBeautiful piece by Vince Locke that was printed in the Deadworld Book One trade paperback published by WeeBee Comics in 1989.I have a very deep connection with this piece as it was the very first piece of comic book original artwork that I ever saw in person and held way back at the WeeBee Comics offices in 1989. I was a young 17 year old artist that was wanting to break into comic books some how and I had met local comic book artist Randy Zimmerman at the WeeBee Comics office a few weeks before I saw this piece. I saw this original artwork sitting on top of a filing cabinet and picked it up and instantly fell in love with it. I stared at it for what seemed like an eternity. It etched itself into my brain lol. I have known Vince since the very early 90's and only got up the courage to ask if he still had this piece of original artwork about a year ago. I was afraid to find out if it had been sold and my dream of owning it would be crushed. But, I finally asked and he looked through his artwork and still had it! I explained it's importance to me as a young artist and even though he didn't have plans to sell it, he knew it was coming to a good home and that it would never be sold. So, he decided to let me buy it. I can't thank him enough. Social/Sharing |
