Description1974 was a great year for Mr. Wrightson and I've always loved this moody masterpiece since I bought the coloring book at 13 years old... What can you say? Wrightson is the master. Large size and thick glorious ink.Social/Sharing |

1974, that is right in the middle of Wrightson's sweat spot for artwork. He was great before and after this period but '70 to '78, no one was better.

Absolutely amazing drawing! The lighting and mood in this are unbeatable. Love the misty tombstones, the harsh black and white foreground shapes, and the extremely effective forced perspective. The hands and face on that ghoul are Wrightson at his best

Very nice Wrightson, Rob. It's about time this found the right collection.

I pretty much love every page of Wrightson's little stroll through the lexicon of monsters he took for his ""coloring book," but this is one of my very favorites thanks to its fiendishly good composition and mood (and the inks, and the wink and the nod; etc.).
