Description

Here is Mark Bode's design for a limited edition T-shirt featuring Leonardo riding a fantastical creature known as a Fly Flower, a creation by Mark's father, Vaughn Bode. The Fly Flower appeared in several of Vaughn Bode's comics such as Junkwaffel no. 2 (1972). The copyright on the design predates the release of TMNT Special "Times" Pipeline by Mark Bode by two years. "Times" Pipeline was Mark's tribute to his father by featuring the Turtles in a storyline inhabited by his father's bestial creations.

February 27, 2021 update: When I bought the original art directly from Mark, he told me it was a for a limited edition shirt, but couldn't tell me much more than that. Since then I had not been able to find the shirt or a picture of it. Well, on 2/27/21, Mark found a stash of vintage T-shirts in his attic, with this one among them, and posted them on Facebook.
