Description

J. Bone is a rather prolific cartoonist whose work you've likely been exposed to, even if you're unaware of it. He's done a tone of mainstream work but is also a mainstay of the indie and webcomic worlds as well. He frequently collaborated with the late Darwyn Cooke, as his bright, energetic style was a great fit for Cooke's art.

Bone did this great sketch for me at a con in Toronto in 2002. It features Gobukan, a rather obscure webcomic character he created. Things I love about this sketch include his use of a purple pencil to rough it out, the word balloon as his means to capture the "Ouch!" theme and the personalization that acknowledged my comics reviews (which were somewhat prominent online at the time).
