DescriptionThis page comes from the 'real' Moon Knight comic, the original series, that introduced the character with great writing by Doug Moench and amazing artwork by Bill Sienkiewicz back when he first broke into the industry and was doing his Neal Adams style and before he developed 'his' look that would characterize his run on things like New Mutants and the Elektra mini-series.Unfortunately this page is doesn't feature any of that, as it actually is the Title Page of a backup story of the issue... it is however from the best era of Moon Knight. It features Moon Knight in his civilian identity of Jake Lockley, one of many he assumed to accomplish his mission. Here he meets cast regular and informant Bertrand Crawley who set up the meet at the bar with information that couldn't wait... about some killers on the loose! The first panel shows off some nice artwork of Manhattan setting the mood for the scene in the bar to follow. The artwork itself on the page is still vivid but the page itself shows discoloration. When I purchased the page on eBay the seller listed described the page as 'light browning'- perhaps that may be true on the side of the page with the artwork, but the back of the page shows browning that I would call severe in my opinion. Some of the artwork on the front does show a 'bleed' of the browning. The artwork makes use of paste-ons for the word balloons as was the method of the time with some of them although still attached, loose and lifting. And the title and credits are also a paste-on naturally. White-out was also used as part of the artwork process on the page. It appears to have been signed by 'Hernandez' at the very top of the page (and the eBay seller I bought from listed it as autographed) but research shows that Mike Hernandez is actually a name used by Michael Bair and I am happy to have the page drawn by Bair. The back of the page shows copyright 1983 Marvel comics which is clear despite the severe browning. A nice page from a great series available at an affordable cost... Social/Sharing |

I'm not really into "autographs". But I'd call it signed. Also, it as the doodle which looks like 2 A's next to each other. That's Hernandez/Bair's "mark" as well.

Since I was totally unfamiliar with the way he signed I didn't know but have now updated the description accordingly. Again, much appreciated!
