DescriptionA great prelim of Spidey & Black Cat swinging by the late and dearly missed Mike Wieringo.I have had this one for years now. Entirely drawn in blue pencil my guess is that it was a prelim for a commission arranged by Moth Comix who was kind of Mike’s agent back then. He set up some commission and was selling the prelim afterwards (no comment). Many of these prelims were excellent and as is often the case much more spontaneous than the finished product. And when we speak about spontaneity and freshness in Ringo’s case, that is saying something :) About the art itself, his Spider-Man was excellent and he was simply perfect for the character. I could have seen him follow in Bagley’s footsteps on Ultimate for one. And his Black Cat is sexy without being vulgar. Again the perfect take. Rest in peace Mike, your impeccable body of work is still enjoyed to this day. Social/Sharing |
