Description

Vertice Mundi comics are somewhat famous among the small but resourceful and enthusiastic foreign comic collector community which I have been fortunate to be a part of for a few years now.

As a fan of Moon Knight the first time I saw one of these books was on a spanish website. It wasnt this issue but the one after is depicting WWBN 33. I thought and hoped that WWBN 32 existed, since when foreign companies imprinted US comics, many did not pay attention to sequential orders or story continuity. So when after searching for awhile I finally found a copy of that I knew must be WWBN 32! It had Moon Knight on the cover or at least a guy who looked like him but colored in RED & BLUE! He was also fighting with Jack Russel just like the US editions so I took a gamble. The seller was in Spain and I had to buy the entire run from just to get the issue but when I got it in the mail, it was much nicer than I initially thought which was a relief since many foreign copies are in poor shape compared to their US counterparts.

When I found out who the artist was after doing some research, I looked him up thinking he might not still be with us so when I found his website through a maze of links in spanish, I contacted the site and who else but the real Rafael Lopez Espi responded to me personally!

We exchanged a few pleasantries and then I finally worked up the nerve to ask him if he still had the original artwork to the book. He did not think he did nor did he know where it was but he said he was willing to do a recreation. I just couldn't pass it up. Ever since then, I have looked at the comic cover and the piece he sent me and I honestly cant tell the difference. Its just that dang good!
