DescriptionThere's a kitschy and endlessly fun appeal to much of Allred's work as is evidenced here in this illustration for Vampirella Gallery card #25 (Topps 1995). I suppose it's no secret that I'm a huge fan of his Madman, but it bears mentioning that I'm also a big Vampirella fan and Halloween just so happens to be my favorite holiday. I guess what I'm saying is that this kooky, spooky graveyard scene is as tailor-made an illo as this fanboy could hope for and thanks go out to the uber-groovy Mr. Allred for this and the many years of all-out fun!Social/Sharing |
