DescriptionA while back I was very lucky to get the opportunity to purchase a few prelims by Alice and Martin Provensen for some of their books. It's tough to tell for sure, but this looks to be a study for "The Golden Treasury of Myths and Legends," published in 1959. There is a section where Nausicaa and her maidens bathe in the book. It's possible this is a study for that section.This painting could also be something for their version of the Iliad and Odyssey, but it's tough to verify that. Either way, I love this time of their careers. I'd love to find more original art from that period. Social/Sharing |
