Description

Here's another great cover prelim by Dave Cockrum. The published cover was actually both penciled and inked by Joe Sinnott, who followed the prelim very closely.

Talk about a strange assortment of characters! This includes The Hulk, Hellcat, Nighthawk, Black Goliath, Havok, Torpedo, Stingray and Tagak (who appeared previously in an issue of Daredevil). Polaris was added on the published cover.

Looking at your fine examples of Dave Cockrum's preliminary designs it is very clear how visually clever he was; highly underated I think.
