Feb 1976- this cover leaped off the stands to me. My favorite art team drawing one of my favorite books and yes I do really love Nighthawk (one of the few) and he is in a staring role! A true huge want for me and an art friend made it happen! Thank you so much!! I truly love this cover!

I love the art team, but man, Janson's inks here really put the quality over the top. Congrats, Kirk!

First off, I am also a great Nighthawk fan. But more importantly, this cover has a great layout, amazing inks (Janson's inks a re not necessarily right for covers, but in this case they work perfectly), and is truly representative of the innovative, quirky run by Gerber. Marvel Bronze Age gem!

Just love Jansen's inking during this period. And I totally agree with your description. One of my favorite art duos on my favorite team book. Wow, you can't even imagine how jealous this makes me. Awesome score dude!

Congrats on a killer cover! NO ONE did dramatic covers like Kane--love the high drama here, and also the deep blacks across the page. Btw, looks like maybe Romita touch-ups to the faces of Valkyrie and the Hulk?

A very memorable cover given its hooror overtones and great execution--this one really stood out when originally published and still retains its punch.
