Description

This daily features Constance Heath, who along with Johnny Q is my favorite recurring guest star in On Stage. All On Stage fans remember this storyline which features Constance Heath, a 'woman of a certain age', allowing herself to get past societal norms, dating and eventually falling in love with the much younger actor, Eric Lind. It's a quandry as old as time, one that carries a double standard even in 2022, and it made for a fabulous story.

Artistically speaking, Starr is on point as usual, always understanding how to depict Constance as beautiful, yet still making sure the readers understand that she's an older woman, no matter which day they might tune in at for the first time. Starr's expertise in making fabric look realistic is on full display here too. Perhaps my favorite part of this daily from an aesthetic perspective is the gorgeous figure work on Constance in the middle panel, which shows the gracefulness of a dancer.
