Description

This was used on a print in the Warner Brothers Ultimate Middle Earth Blu-ray Set along with the Alan Lee piece I have. I think it was an amazing opportunity to get my hands on both paintings given how difficult it is to collect original Tolkien art from both of these artists.

Warner Brothers has it called "Barrels out of Bounds" on their print but John Howe joked that "Warner can't spell" when I asked about it on Facebook, so I've changed it to "Barrels out of Bond" as w/ the chapter name in The Hobbit.

17"x23" inches. The photo of this painting was taken through museum glass with an iPhone so it is kind of blurry, but you get the idea.

R.I.P. Scruffy - cancer got her so she won't be in any new of the "additional images" going forward.

This is beyond beautiful. An original John Howe. That is exceptional. And the drawing from Scruffy as Gandalf is so sweet.
