DescriptionBeautiful insight into Simon Bisley's work method (circa 1992-93)Given to us by top UK artist Greg Staples who very eloquently had this to say about it: 'I love this piece as its Simon showing his painting process.Simon will sometimes put a dark wash over his ink drawing to build up the colours so this captures him mid painting.. Its unclear in this scan but the under drawing is wonderful.Simon will sometimes paint on a copy of the inks to preserve them but this is an original inked drawing underneath which is only visible when you hold it up to the light. Simon said he didnt have time to finish it as it was quite detailed, I'm glad as I like it as it is....' It's a real pity he didn't finish this as it's quite different from the picture he eventually used... I've included some photos of this on a lightbox in order to show the fabulous drawing under the dark wash... Image size of approximately 12.5" x 16.25". Social/Sharing |
