Karate Kid vs. Man-Thing by Brook Turner and Simon Gough

I discovered Brook Turner's art many years ago on a book called Golly! Brook was good then, but he's even better now. When I saw that Brook was doing commissions from home, and saw some of the stunning examples of ones he'd done for other people, I knew that I had to get one for myself! I gave Brook a few opponents to choose from for a "Karate Kid vs." commission and he chose poor old Ted Sallis, the Man-Thing. Then he delivered this masterpiece to me and I was stunned! Check out that monstrous Man-Thing and that fantastic swamp! And Mr. Val Armorr himself who appears to have just teleported in through the Nexus of All Realities and is delivering a flying kick straight from the 31st Century! I turned the commission over to Simon Gough who then worked his magic and made it even more gorgeous! His choices with the greens and blues are just fantastic. Big thanks to Brook and Simon for their excellent work!

Believe it or not, this wouldn't be the Man-Thing's first fight with a martial arts master, as he fought Shang-Chi back in Master of Kung Fu #19. That fight didn't have a real victor, and I don't think that this one will, either. Val won't be scared of the Man-Thing, so he won't burn. But Val also won't be able to truly harm the Guardian of the Nexus of All Realities. the Man-Thing can regenerate from almost anything, and will probably just get bored and wander away, leaving Val puzzled as to what exactly just happened.
