Karate Kid vs. Mantis by Brent Peeples

I’ve been wanting a Karate Kid commission from Brent for a while now, and decided that he’d do a great job with Mantis, and boy was I right! Brent is also really good with markers, so I asked for colors on this one, and it came out beautifully. I love the layout, the ink splatter, and just how Brent drew Mantis’s costume. It looks like Mantis is coming from behind with a sneaky flying kick, but Val has sensed it and is twisting to block it with his left arm and preparing to counter-strike with his right arm. And that will make a fine start to this fight. Thanks again to Brent for his fantastic work on this commission!

So what happens when the martial artist so good she went toe-to-toe with Thor goes up against the martial artist so good he went toe-to-toe with Superman? EPIC KUNG FU MADNESS, that’s what! Karate Kid knows more fighting styles, for sure, but Mantis has some psychic powers which could influence the fight, so it’s hard for me to call this one. Well no it isn’t, Karate Kid wins. Just like always. Because I SAID SO!

Always thought it was RIDICULOUS to have Mantis going toe-to-toe with Thor. He could literally blow her away. That said, I agree that Karate Kid could take her down. Another winning commission!
