Description

Airplane combat action by Russ Heath! From the 1969 Haunted Tank story: "We Can't See!"

Synopsis: Crossing the desert, the crew rescue a boy named Ali from thieves. He promises to repay them someday. Later they shoot down a German plane attacking a British fighter plane. The pilot warns of a Nazi poison gas dump that must be blown... and dies. The Haunted Tank crew take on the mission, but in blowing the dump are all blinded by magnesium flares. Ali arrives and leads them to safety, and even directs a brawl with Nazi storm troopers, winning the day.

G.I.C. often had the Haunted Tank knocking down airplanes with a single shot from its main cannon. Fun, but laughably implausible. Kind of like shooting a flying bumblebee from across the yard, using a .22 rifle aimed by a pair of winches.
