Description

Early Excalibur page by A Davis: another major tick the box for me. I chose this page because it represents the light, fairy-tale spirit of the book, with a good balance of humour and drama.

I can't praise enough Neary's inks: this is one of the pages in my collection where the difference between a scan and the real thing is starkest.

When I buy an interior page, I also like to identify one single line in the dialogue that represents the page, captures the moment. Given current times, I have to pick: "It was a scary moment, I was caught by surprise. But everything worked out for the best. Truly". I wish six months from now I will be able to read that and smile. But I am afraid not everybody will be able to smile. Stay healthy.
