DescriptionFrom Alan Davis' acclaimed run on Excalibur, great action page featuring Rachael - Phoenix against the Sentinels, possibily the most recurring menace for our merry mutants. Alan Davis' work on Excalibur was super high quality and very consistent, depicting with equal grace intense action, drama and comedy. Plus, I love that he tried to come up with his own power effect of Rachael- Phoenix's TK.Farmer's inks were the perfect complement to Alan Davis' precise pencils and choice of shaodws. I had been looking to add one Davis Excalbur example for quite some time, I am happy I have found one featuring Phoenix! Social/Sharing |

Out of Alan's extensive (and extraordinary) body of work, the two series I miss most are Clan Destine and Excalibur. I thought Clan Destine was gone far too soon and Excalibur (although part of the family of X-titles) never quite gained the popularity of it's big brothers. But I loved the characters and the stories. Especially the later issues that put emphasis on humor. Maybe that's why it didn't quite fit in with the rest. In any case, this is an absolutely GORGEOUS page! Of course you could probably say that about anything Alan does. That consistency is what makes him one of the industry's all time greats. Congratulations my friend.

Stunning page from a superb and underrated run! Davis and Farmer did spectacular work together.

So awesome! An action packed page, some great shots of Rachel (especially the lower left panel), and...Sentinels! I love their design and love Davis/Farmer's rendition here! I'm looking for my own Excalibur example - congrats on getting yours! It's a beaut!

Davis' Sentinels are up there with the very best renditions of those robotic bad boys! This is classic stuff - a real beaut of a page!

Classic page. Showing Davis doing his best character. Congrats on this. I have two head sketches from him and I'm glad I have those but I would love a page like this.
