Description

Batman #277

July, 1976

"The Riddle of the Man Who Walked Backwards!"

While Bruce Wayne is on vacation with his date Susan, a sea monster is sighted on a nearby beach. Bruce has Alfred send Susan back to Gotham and Batman investigates the monster (a drug smuggler in a costume). .... very "Scooby Doo" style story. Batman goes up against the costumed smuggler and is knocked out by one of his cohorts. Alfred finds Bruce unconscious and removes his Batman costume. Bruce wakes up in jail and later escapes his jail cell. Batman apprehends the drug smugglers and Bruce Wayne sneaks back into his jail cell before the local sheriff ever realized he was missing. Case closed and Bruce Wayne had yet another alibi why he can't possibly be Batman.
