Description

Okay folks, tonight I am posting the final two pages of Web of Spider-Man #65 that I own.

***Still looking for pages from this issue, so please let me know if you have one and would be willing to sell to a motivated buyer***

On this page, the cadre of villains (Goliath, Trapster, the Brothers Grimm, Graviton, and Titania) have just been shafted by the Chameleon, who had promised them lots of money to kill Spidey (which they thought they did in the previous issue). While trashing the Chameleon's shipboard hideout, they come across a memo presumably written by the Kingpin saying that he and the Chameleon are in cahoots. What they don't know is that the Chameleon wrote the note in order to get them to attack the Kingpin, thereby removing a strong competitor.

Three things I love about this page:
1) How one of the Brothers Grimm totally disses the Trapster in the first panel
2) How in the third panel, Graviton uses his powers to levitate the rest of the group (and gets in a fat joke as well)
3) How the third panel becomes the view from the Chameleon's binoculars as he spies on his dupes from his luxurious yacht (complete with obviously chilly scantily clad women -- they do NOT look happy).

Just look at that grin. He is the happiest comic book character ever. Well next to Happy Hogan of course.

You know good ol' Paste Pot Pete is one of the lamest villains ever when even a Brother Grimm makes you look inferior. How sad that he actually thought adopting the "Trapster" monicker would make people take him seriously! And what's up with Graviton? This is at least the 2nd time in the issue that he's fat shaming the Kingpin. I guess he never saw the splash page to Peter Parker the Spectacular Spider-Man #100! By the way, I really love the design element with the binoculars panel right in the middle of the page, really cool.

I'm just glad the Trapster's name change didn't catch on with the heroes .  Otherwise we'd have the Webster, the Hulkster (and She-Hulkster), the Shieldster, the Clawster (tag line: "When I'm done with you, you'll be Clawster-phobic")...um, what, the Repulsor Rayster?... Thor would be the best...the Hamm-ster.  Haha!!  And don't get me started with the villains.  Juggster? Doomster? Thank you thank you,  I'll be here all week.

Ooooo that shady Chameleon! It’s written all over that grin of his. Great page from an amazing story.

Yikes! Sorry folks, as the owner of the club, I can assure you, that was a special "one night only" performance!

Nice! A lot of Saviuk Web pages from the time were so busy from the characters and scenes in the panels to the dialogue...and that's a good thing! Always was good value for the money as a read and it appears to also be the case with the OA :) Love the idea of using a binocular shape as a panel! Congrats, man, and good luck on getting the rest!

Wow, what a fun issue, and you own almost the entire book.  So cool!  I think Gerry Conway, as well as editor Jim Salicrup, deserve a lot of credit for coming up with super-fun stories on this secondary (tertiary?) Spidey book in 1990.  Good luck finding the last few pages!
