Description

Explosive action page to the Harvey Kurtzman story "Checkers!" by the legendary art team of John Severin & Will Elder. Kurtzman inscribed the page to his friend, illustrator Rick Meyerowitz, who is best known for his work for National Lampoon magazine, including his iconic poster for the film Animal House.

The signature is interesting. Harvey Kurtzman never owned the story himself and the page must have belonged to the winner of the story in Russ Cochran's EC Art Auction. He then managed to get the page signed by two of the creators. Maybe we'll see a new phenomenon in the future:
