DescriptionDetective Comics #862 Cover Original Art (DC Comics, April 2010). This is the cover for "Batwoman: Cutter, Part Two", one of my favorites from J.H. Williams' Batwoman-themed 10-issue run spanning 854 - 863. The cover features both Batwoman and Batman reflected in the knives of this issue's antagonist, the psychotic villain known as the Cutter. The maniacal villain is prominently featured and like much of J.H. Williams' work in comics, his fine art tendencies come through in spades. He masterfully crafts a creepy montage of elements that transcend this piece from a simple head shot of a villain, into something much, much more. The piece is signed at the lower right margin and image area. Created in ink over graphite on 11" X 17" Bristol board.Social/Sharing |

Wow, what a great, graphic approach! Great to see this, as I feel Williams' art is realtively unknown today and deserves more collector attention.
