A proposed strip by Nick for Major North, created by F. Van Wyck Mason.

I have a vague recollection that Nick mentioned that he was friendly with Mason.

The Hugh North character started out in Mason's 1930 novel, "Seeds Of Murder", as a Captain in US military intelligence. Over the decades, he was promoted to Major. The last Hugh North novel was published in 1968.

I read in Wikipedia that Hugh North's character traits could be considered a prototype for James Bond. However North's adventures were more about
solving mysteries, not thwarting attempts at world domination. It would be hilarious if he ever said "North... Hugh North" !!

Editor's Note: This example seems to give a flavor for the strip without getting into the who or what of the strip. None of the panels seem to have any relation to any other panel in the strip.

The detail in Cardy's artwork is fantastic. It looks like it would have been a great strip.
