Description

Couldn't believe my eyes when I saw this go up for sale on CAF but the real surprise was finding out that the seller not only lived in the same city as me but also 5 minutes down the street.

This sketch was done as one of two preliminary concepts for the original printing of Bravo for Adventure by Canadian publisher and comic book shop Dragon Lady Press. Then the piece was later gifted to the editor and owner as a thank you. I always knew that Dragon Lady was the first publisher to publish Bravo in its entirety but it's insanely cool that it was in the place I grew up and that the piece gets to stay here.

This is a real gem and this being a preliminary concept piece really adds to the history of his seminal work. Congratulations and thanks for sharing this!

Another thanks! To say I was excited when it popped up is all gross understatement. My eyes practically popped out of my skull ha Supposedly there are a few other 6x9 prelims for the cover (including one that matches the final) but they've never surfaced. Maybe Toth held onto them.
