Jean Seberg as her character Patricia in the Classic New Wave film Breathless strolling along the Champs Elysee & right into an alternate Futuristic tale, by the brilliant Dominique Bertail.

When the chance to commission a piece by the brilliant French painter and illustrator Bertail, it was a no brainer for me. I�ve been a French New Wave fan since film school. I loved the way those stories pushed the envelope of filmmaking, not through technology, but through editing, character and story development. I asked Bertail to place Jean Seberg in her classic New York Herald Tribune attire in a futuristic setting in Paris. The final version leaves me Breathless.

Dominique Bertail- Fascinated by comics since his early childhood, Dominique Bertail studied Fine Arts in Angoul�me. At the Academy, he met Thierry Smolderen, a writer with whom he created the diptich 'L'Enfer des Pelgram' at Delcourt in 1998 and 2000. He also met Josephe and Pat Cab, with whom he maintained the site coconino-world.com for four years. He is the author of the albums 'L'Homme Tableau' (2000) and 'L'Homme Nuit' (2002), that were published by Alain Beaulet. He has worked with writer Thierry Smolderen on 'L'Enfer des Pelgram' (Delcourt, 1998-2000) and the futuristic thriller 'Ghost Money' (Dargaud, 2008 onwards). In 2004, he began the series 'Shandy' with writer Matz at Delcourt. Dominique Bertail is also active as an illustrator (Bayard, Fluide Glacial, Casterman) and a storyboard artist (advertising and cinema). - from Lambiek

Thanks so much Jeff. Given the opportunity to get a commission by Dominique, I just had to mix genres, mediums, and toss in an all time favorite French New Wave film. He really went all-out. I was overjoyed when I received it.
