Description

For Finlay Friday, here's a painting by the great Virgil Finlay that I acquired in a trade with a friend of mine a few years ago. He bought it back in 2006 at that year's Windy City Pulp and Paper Convention. It's the cover of the July 1942 issue of Famous Fantastic Mysteries, illustrating "Polaris of the Snows" by Charles B. Stilson. This story was the first of a trilogy inspired by the works of Edgar Rice Burroughs, and was originally serialized in The All-Story Weekly from December 18, 1915 to January 1, 1916.
