Preliminary art for the cover of ALL NEW X-MEN #15 by Stuart Immonen

Having Stuart and David Lafuente draw X-Men was a high point in X-Men stories for me (Bendis stories aside). This preliminary art wasn’t on the top of my list during the drop but pulled the trigger anyway since most of X-Men ones that I really wanted were already gone. Funny thing was, there were 2 sketches for this cover and, bless my good memory for pictures, I suspected this sketch was the “right” one and the other the “wrong” one. And it was! After the drop, I went through my backissues and confirmed this sketch was the one most similar to the final art. Bonus points for being an issue drawn by David Lafuente, another favorite of mine.

In the additional images there’s a scan of the back of the sketch with a pre-preliminary art of what would become the cover of ALL NEW X-MEN #10, one of the X-Men prelim art that I was trying to get.
