Description15" x 10" image area. Ink over graphite on Bristol board. Classic X-Men #19 Page 21 MAGNETO ORIGIN STORY original art (Marvel, 1988). John Bolton.The wonderful essence of narrative art shines in this opening page that precedes the title splash, retelling the origin of Magneto. Fantastic shadowing effects here. The Nazis' glowing eyes shining through the shadows cast by the helmets on their faces, create a unique and creepy mood. In the last panel, we see Magneto standing outside the Nazi base gate, the soldiers unaware this will not be a turkey shoot! Social/Sharing |

The camera choices describe so much about this compound and those who run it. The way Bolton mixes wide, medium and close ups builds uneasy tension in the page and story.
