DescriptionThis was a no-brainer when I saw it become available. Sean Gordon Murphy drawing a Marvel character and one of my favorite visuals to boot? It’s like it was catered right to me.Love the classic Murphy frenzy in the underlying pencils and brush strokes. Social/Sharing |

Whoa! You got a Murphy piece??? His stuff is a pain to get from what I'm seeing. Congrats! This is a hell of a Cable.

Thanks man. And I know, right?! I had pretty much given up hope of getting something from him and definitely not something Marvel-related. This was a ridiculously awesome (lucky) find!

That gun is so big, it looks like a building! Murphy knows just what makes the character click with fans.

Sweet sassy molassy. Great pickup. The Cablemobile must be just parked off panel.

Thanks, John! Just feels wrong not having a bat insignia SOMEWHERE, right?

I like to think Cable wears Bat undies like the rest of us. What? Just me? Don't judge me man. You are judging me aren't you. The shame.

If I had seen this become available, I would have been right there too. Loved this image for a long time!

*PHEW* Super grateful you didn't then! It was a (really) late night weekend buy. But i definitely share your admiration of it. The custom-cut paper size is a clever way to enhance the composition and draw the eye. Classic Murphy ingenuity.

Perfect example of why sketches can be very satisfying purchases. This one has so much energy and personality to it! Huge congrats!

Thanks, Kent! Every now and then the raw energy of a sketch perfectly captures an artist without the need for further refinement. This is one of those cases IMO.

Alright, who wants some plasma next? What a perfectly gritty Cable commission. SGM's style is so distinct and awesome, and he captured Cable's essence here. Great snag! I bet you left a lot of people with the sads. Congrats!

Terrific! Great lines and shapes in this and love the posture with his head hard to the side looking for the next target. SGM is amazing

Beautiful energy to this piece, Eranga! One might be forgiven for taking a quick glance and thinking it was dashed off, but a closer look shows how much technique was used here. The thick, brash lines of the figure are set off by the care invested in the gun, with the different line weights and spots / streaks of grey, and I love how this positively bristles with energy thanks to the black ink brush strokes that surround the figure, bordering and defining the space (especially around the left arm and elbow). Great pick up, Eranga!
