DescriptionHere is page 9 - acquired at SDCC 2005...this is the one Ken left behind when he got to Mike's booth before I did and bought page 5 that I picked up 15 years laterPerhaps it is the prototype appearance of the female mohawk hair, later used on Storm? Social/Sharing |

Nobody took shortcuts on any of these panels. They could have been drawing a still life of a plate of fruit and I'd buy that issue.

This is gorgeous. Everett figured out how to ink Smith way before anyone else did. It's so cool when an inker can bring out the best in such different pencilers as Smith and (say) Kirby. Thanks for showing this off. And it's not "perhaps" a prototype - seize the reins of the narrative, dude -- if anyone wants to buy this it is DEFINITELY the first appearance of Stom's mohawk. ; )

Congratulations! Getting closer, only three more pages to go. At least this one gives you a nice 3-page sequence. I truly hope that the owners of the missing pages will see your collection and feel compelled to help you in your effort to curate this phenomenal story. As a collector, I'm jealous. But as a fan, I'm rooting for you to get to the finish line.

'But enough of these matters' as panel 4 says. This, of course, was placed on the page shortly after the editor slapped the writer on the head for writing more faux, soul searching, pseudo philosophical drivel. These 1970s writers. String them all up. Still, its better than those awful Green Lantern/Green Arrow comics. The 'children' of Lee and Kirby have a lot to apologise for. Venting over. The art is lovely. Purple prose, less so.

Gorgeous page. The brushwork is so precise - the lines really shine.

The resemblance with Storm can't be coincidence. Absolutely in love with that mohawk hair!!!
